JOHNSTOWN – Sen. Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) issued the following statement after joining PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll and officials from Amtrak and Norfolk Southern to provide additional information related to the expanded Amtrak Pennsylvanian delivering a second daily train to Johnstown:
“Since taking office, I have worked with local, state and federal officials, as well as partners in the private sector, to bring a second daily train through the Johnstown Train Station. Early in this effort, we faced significant resistance, but we have now navigated those challenges and delivered this win for our region. This additional train leverages another mode of transportation that will bring more disposable income into our area, supporting small businesses and job creators. We will continue building on this momentum to secure even more economic opportunities for the region.”
