HARRISBURG – Sen. Wayne Langerholc Jr. (R-35) announced today the investment of a $7.2 million grant for Nanty Glo Water Authority through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST).
Nanty Glo Water Authority will receive a $7.2 million grant to install and replace filters which will increase capacity at their facility. Without this grant, user fees would have been forced to increase by an additional 69%.
“As a member of the PENNVEST Board of Directors, I am proud to deliver this important investment to Cambria County. This funding represents a substantial commitment to strengthening our region’s infrastructure and ensuring residents have continued access to clean, dependable water,” said Langerholc. “By supporting these improvements, we are not only enhancing critical infrastructure but also providing meaningful financial relief to local ratepayers who would otherwise face additional increased costs in the years ahead.”
PENNVEST is an independent agency that provides financial assistance for drinking water, sewer, and stormwater projects across Pennsylvania. It is not funded by the state’s General Fund, which covers the commonwealth’s daily operations and services.
