HARRISBURG –Sen. Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) announced more than $2.2 million in transportation funding for projects in Cambria and Centre counties.

The Central Cambria School District will receive $716,108 to construct two miles of pedestrian and bicycle pathways near the district campus, Admiral Peary Vo-Tech, the North Central Recreational Center, and the Learning Lamp. Improvements will include marked crosswalks, signage and other safety and accessibility measures.

Patton Township will receive $1.5 million to improve accessibility on Vairo Boulevard between the Patton–Ferguson Township boundary and Oakwood Avenue. The project will also include stormwater upgrades and new sidewalks.

“As the former Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, I understand how critical these projects are to strengthening our existing infrastructure,” said Langerholc. “These improvements will make our communities safer for students and residents.”

The projects are funded through the federal Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside program.
