HARRISBURG – Sen. Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) announced the approval of more than $591,000 to assist individuals and improve Cambria County through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP).
The following projects were approved:
- Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank – $351,351
The Food Bank and Brian Campbell Farms are partnering to distribute more than 515,000 pounds of fresh produce annually in Armstrong and Cambria counties. This collaboration will provide monthly food boxes, including produce and frozen protein, to approximately 2,145 households.
- JARI – $33,150
JARI will address local poverty by providing tuition assistance to train three truck drivers and two phlebotomists. These high-demand career pathways will help fill workforce gaps while offering family-sustaining wages.
- Cambria County Library System – $35,550
The Johnstown Library will renovate its facility to improve ADA accessibility, including bathroom expansions and new fixtures. The project also includes staff training and targeted outreach to ensure individuals with disabilities can access services.
- The Learning Lamp – $171,000
The Learning Lamp will support childcare providers through free business coaching, a school-to-work pipeline with tuition assistance, and free CPR training. These efforts aim to improve childcare quality and support working families throughout the region.
“When we leverage private-sector leadership and local investment, we strengthen communities in meaningful ways,” said Langerholc. “The Neighborhood Assistance Program encourages businesses to partner with nonprofits and invest directly in local neighborhoods, helping families in need while supporting community-driven solutions.”

The Neighborhood Assistance Program provides tax credits to businesses that contribute to nonprofit organizations working to revitalize communities. Funding for the program is authorized through the annual state budget, which Langerholc supported.
