HARRISBURG (June 7, 2017) Sen. Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) and Rep. Bryan Barbin (D-Johnstown) remind residents that it is not too late to attend a free informational session on how to obtain and comply with a concealed carry permit and exercise responsible gun ownership.
The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, June 8) at the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center, 445 Schoolhouse Road in Johnstown.
Experts will discuss state laws pertaining to guns and the Second Amendment, and answer questions from residents, such as the following:
- When is the use of deadly force justified, and when does a citizen have a duty to retreat?
- Which neighboring states recognize Pennsylvania gun permits?
- Where are gun owners prohibited from carrying a weapon? and
- What are the Commonwealth’s “open carry” laws?
“Rep. Barbin and I welcome everyone interested in exercising and protecting their Second Amendment rights,” Sen. Langerholc said. “These free forums have proven to be educational and entertaining, helping residents not only to understand the process to acquire and abide by a concealed carry permit, but to discuss individual cases and concerns.”
“With better education comes better safety,” he added.
Seating is limited, and registration is required. Community residents can register online by visiting Sen. Langerholc’s website at www.senatorlangerholc.com or call Senator Langerholc’s District Office at 814-266-2277.
