Clearfield County 9/11 Ceremony

A member of my staff joined members of our community at the Clearfield County Courthouse to remember the events of September 11, 2001. We honor the lives lost and the heroes who emerged in the face of tragedy.

Let us never forget the resilience of the American spirit and our unity in the aftermath of September 11, 2001.

Graduation at the Penn Highlands Community College Police Academy

Congratulations to the inaugural graduating class of the Penn Highlands Community College Police Academy.

Open House at Bridges Cooperative Ministry

My staff attended an open house at Bridges Cooperative Ministry (BCM). Formerly known as United Methodist Human Services, BCM was started as a relief agency after the 1977 Johnstown Flood. Now as an independent ministry, BCM serves the needs of those living in daily instability and creates pathways to transition away from poverty. Stop by to see everything they offer!

Ribbon Cutting at Ziggy’s Sports

My staff attended the ribbon cutting for Ziggy’s Sports in downtown Johnstown. Ziggy’s has a wide variety filled with all of your hockey needs from gloves, sticks, helmets and more. While you shop, you can also have your skates sharpened! Congratulations and best of luck to you!

Free Support Available to Military Members

As a reminder for Suicide Prevention Month, veterans in crisis can call the toll-free Veterans Crisis Line. It serves veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and those who support them.

A caring, qualified responder is available to provide confidential support and connect callers with resources 24/7, 365 days a year.

Call 988 and then press 1 or chat online.

Fire, Ambulance Companies: Apply Now for State Grants

Fire companies and ambulance services throughout Pennsylvania are encouraged to submit an application for the 2023-24 Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program.

Grants may be used for construction or renovation of a unit’s station, the purchase or repair of equipment, training or debt reduction. The maximum grant amount is $20,000 for fire companies and $15,000 for volunteer ambulance services – increased this year because of legislation supported by Senate Republicans.

Find more information and apply online here by Oct. 20 at 4 p.m.
