Veterans Appreciation Breakfasts

I was honored to host veterans from Cambria County for my annual Veterans Appreciation Breakfast in Ebensburg and veterans from Clearfield and Centre counties for my Veterans Appreciation Breakfast in Clearfield. Special thanks to my colleague, Senator Cris Dush, who was our guest speaker at the breakfast in Ebensburg.

Thank you to the veterans who joined us and thank you for your service to our nation.

Alternatives to College Expo

Thank you to the students, staff, and exhibitors who attended my Alternatives to College Expo at Central Cambria High School in Ebensburg.

These organizations offer tremendous career opportunities for young people in our region that meet local workforce needs without requiring a four-year college degree.

Clearfield Borough Receives Main Street Designation

I joined the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Rick Siger in Clearfield Borough to announce the award of a Main Street designation to downtown Clearfield through the Main Street Matters program. This program will provide the downtown Clearfield business district with the tools needed to create a healthy, vibrant community.

West Branch Elementary Ribbon Cutting

I was proud to take part in the ribbon cutting ceremony at West Branch Elementary School celebrating the completion of its renovation project. I secured state funding to assist in making these improvements possible and invest in a better learning environment for students, teachers, and the entire school community.

U.S. Senate Aging Committee Hearing in Pittsburgh

As chair of the Pennsylvania Senate Aging & Youth Committee, I was honored to attend a United States Senate Special Committee on Aging field hearing hosted by U.S. Senators Dave McCormick and John Fetterman. The panel held a great discussion on addressing the challenges of social isolation faced by seniors in the commonwealth.

Langerholc, Rigby Secure Funding for Summerhill Police

Along with state Rep. Jim Rigby, we secured much needed state funding for the Summerhill Township Police Department. With this funding, two brand new Ford F-150 Police Responder vehicles were purchased. I appreciate working with Representative Rigby to have an even greater impact on communities in the 35th Senatorial District.

Future KeyState Nitrogen Site in Karthaus

It was good to visit the site of the proposed KeyState Nitrogen manufacturing facility in Karthaus Township. I look forward to working with all stakeholders on this project.

Funding Local Road Projects

black top road in the country

When we learned PennDOT was sitting on millions of dollars that should be spent on local infrastructure, my Senate colleagues and I used state budget negotiations to free this money up for road projects across the commonwealth.

PennDOT agreed to release an additional $775 million from the Motor License Fund for local road projects only, not interstates, which are funded elsewhere.

We fought to secure these funds because local road improvements mean safer travel with less congestion and improved transportation infrastructure that supports the economy and job creation. List of Rapid Deployment Transportation Projects

Booking a Tour of Your State Capitol

PA Capitol

Fall is a great time to tour your state Capitol, a National Historic Landmark featuring Renaissance designs, paintings, stained glass and furnishings by some of the best artisans in the world.

Scheduling in advance is recommended, but walk-ins are welcome according to availability. Tours take approximately 30-45 minutes and are limited to 40 guests total per tour. Self-guided tours do not take place on weekends and holidays.

More than the seat of Pennsylvania’s government, the Capitol is a magnificent symbol of the hopes and vision of the commonwealth that gave birth to a nation. Find details and book a tour here.
