State Funding Supports Critical Adams Township Sewer System Upgrades

HARRISBURG – A low-interest loan award from the state will support critical upgrades to sewage systems in Adams Township in Cambria County, according to Senator Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35).

The loan of more than $4.4 million to the Forest Hills Municipal Authority will help extend service to an additional 145 homes that have aged on-lot sewage systems. Recent tests have shown the existing systems to have high malfunction rates.

The project will involve the installation of 23,000 feet of gravity collection, 1,900 feet of force main, manholes, a pump station and electrical upgrades to the system.

“The malfunction rates of the existing systems are a serious concern that must be addressed,” Langerholc said. “This funding will help improve not only the health of our local infrastructure, but also the well-being of community residents.”

Construction on the project is scheduled to begin in November 2019 and is expected to be completed by November 2020.

The loan was awarded by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority.
