HARRISBURG – Sen. Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) today announced the approval of state funding assistance for multiple water and sewer improvement projects, and support for the arts, across the 35th Senate District.
“I am pleased to announce this state support for projects throughout the 35th Senate District,” Langerholc said. “This funding will provide for water and sewer upgrades which is crucial to ensuring our communities have safe and reliable water supply, and support for the arts is essential for a well-rounded society.”
The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority through the H2O PA Water Supply, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Water Projects Program; the Small Water and Sewer Program Projects Program; and the Arts and Culture Recovery Program.
H2O PA Water Supply, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Water Projects Program grants:
Houtzdale Municipal Authority
The authority was awarded $1 million to conduct upgrades and repairs to the storage tanks and damaged pipes in Woodward, Beccaria and Rush townships, Clearfield County.
Gallitzin Water Authority
The authority will receive $446,516 to assist in rehabilitation of one water tank and replacement of one water tank in Gallitzin Township, Cambria County.
Johnstown Redevelopment Authority
The authority has been awarded $933,380 for efficiency upgrades at the Dornick Point wastewater treatment plant in West Taylor Township, Cambria County.
Ebensburg Municipal Authority
The authority will receive $1 million to construct a stormwater collection and conveyance system in Ebensburg Borough, Cambria County.
Small Water and Sewer Program grants:
Clearfield Municipal Authority
The authority was awarded $53,027 for wastewater lift station improvements in Lawrence Township, Clearfield County.
Geistown Borough
The borough will receive $414,035 to create stormwater infrastructure improvements at five priority sites in Geistown Borough, Cambria County.
Jackson East Taylor Sewer Authority
The authority was awarded $21,500 to replace pump station generators at its sewage facility.
Johnstown Redevelopment Authority
The authority will receive $201,864 for upgrades at the Dornick Point wastewater treatment plant in West Taylor Township, Cambria County.
Nanty Glo Water Authority
The authority was awarded $205,923 to replace the Edwards Street waterline in Nanty Glo Borough, Cambria County.
Southwestern Cambria County Water Authority
The authority will receive $90,499 for the Newtown PRV pit replacement project.
Curwensville Municipal Authority
The authority will receive $139,171 for wastewater treatment plant upgrades in Curwensville Borough, Clearfield County.
Ebensburg Municipal Authority
The authority was awarded $187,250 to assist with Ogden Tank improvements in Jackson Township, Cambria County.
Reade Township Municipal Authority
The authority will receive $174,038 for pressure-reducing valve vault rehabilitation.
Kratzer Run Sewer Authority
The authority will receive $85,000 for the improvements at its wastewater treatment facility in Penn Township, Clearfield County.
Huston Township Municipal Authority
The authority was awarded $75,000 to rehabilitate two water tanks.
PA Arts and Culture Recovery Program grants:
Centre County Community Foundation Inc.
The foundation will receive $49,500 to distribute pandemic recovery payments to arts and culture professionals in Centre, Clearfield, Clinton and Huntingdon counties.
Community Art Center of Cambria County
The center was awarded $20,969 for operating and marketing expenses for the Arts Organization in Westmont Borough.
Community Foundation for the Alleghenies
The organization will receive $99,000 to distribute pandemic recovery payments to arts and culture professionals in Westmoreland, Fayette, Somerset, Cambria, Bedford and Blair counties.
Cresson Lake Playhouse
The playhouse will receive $10,000 to fund operating costs for its performing arts organization located in Loretto Borough, Cambria County.
Discovery Space of Central PA Inc.
The organization was awarded $32,447 for operating expenses for the Science and Technology Center in Ferguson Township, Centre County.
Johnstown Area Heritage Assoc
The association will receive $24,449 for new marketing opportunities.
Johnstown Symphony Orchestra
The orchestra will receive $28,360 to help cover operating expenses.
Mountain Playhouse
The organization will receive $25,859 to help cover operating expenses.
Pennsylvania Humanities Council
The council was awarded $80,280 to establish new programs and marketing.
The H2O PA program provides for single-year and multi-year grants for the construction of drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer projects; the construction or renovation of flood control projects; and the repair or rehabilitation of high-hazard unsafe dams.
The Small Water and Sewer Program provides grants for small water, sewer and storm water infrastructure projects.
The PA Arts and Culture Recovery Program provides grants to nonprofit arts and culture organizations, local arts and culture districts and arts and culture professionals to ensure the stability and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
